Betelgeuse, or the Kingdom of Betelgeuse is a micronation surrounded by Texas since 2023. Our capital cities are Friendship City and Foundation City. These are our currencies: the Atom, Molecule, and Grain, and our Constitution.We started our journey in late 2023 as the Republic of Jacinto, named after the Battle of San Jacinto. Then, we changed our name to the Republic of Betelgeuse and entered relations with Tacoland. However, soon after, the First Tacoland-Betelgeusan War broke out, causing Tacoland to cede a strip of land on Pluto to us. Then, we became a monarchy, shortly before the Second Tacoland-Betelgeusan War broke out, resulting in the occupation of Tacoland until early 2025, the war resumed, resulting in the end of the occupation. As Tacoland became inactive, we developed our Constitution in May. On late May, Steve's Rebellion broke out. Then, on June, we formed an alliance with Podland, dragging us into a war with Objectland, which we resolved with the Rio Grande Accords. On Late June-Early July, the Bumlard war broke out, where the micronation of Bumland, which was offensive (or so we thought), especially against Podland and its allies. The Fascist Dictatorship of Smart (later Popland) was also on Bumland's side, but thankfully, they were both defeated. Although Newbornbarfbruh claimed our territory, and Serarin threatened our ally Podland, they were easily defeated. Because of our history, we have many different currencies. The Atom is a fiat currency independent from any other. The Molecule is backed by goo, and actually has value. On the other hand, the Grain was inspired by a joke video made by the Youtuber Oats Jenkins, which is equal to $0.25 USD.
